根据11月18日公布的超级计算机Top500榜单，中国的天河二号仍然是世界最快的超级电脑，峰值速度33.86 petaflop/s，是第二名泰坦的两倍，短时间内除了中国自己，可能不会有其它超算能超过天河二号。Top 500的前五名与6个月前的排名没有任何变化：橡树岭国家实验室的泰坦峰值速度17.59 petaflop/s；劳伦斯利物莫国家实验室的Sequoia峰值速度17.17 petaflop/s；日本的K computer峰值10.51 Pflop/s；阿贡国家实验室的Mira峰值速度8.59 petaflop/s；之后的排名略有变化，天河一号A从第10名降至了第12名。最新排名中，有31台超算系统运算速度超过1 petaflop/s；中国有63台进入榜单，仅次于美国；惠普生产的超算最多（196），之后是IBM（164）和克雷（48），但计算性能上IBM遥遥领先；500台超算中，一台运行Windows Azure，一台运行Windows HPC 2008，其它多是基于Linux，其中包括天河二号运行的 Kylin Linux，由国防科技大学开发，兼容主流操作系统。
